Libby Fabricatore is an electro-acoustic composer, video artist, and drummer based in New York City. Her fixed-media compositions explore processed found sound, ambient / soundscape and field recording, mixed with synthesis techniques. Libby's electroacoustic and video works have been programmed at festivals throughout North America, Europe and the Caribbean. Recently, her work was presented at the ISCM World New Music Days 2024 in the Faroe Islands, where she also performed her live soundscape set under the pseudonym, asig~.
She completed an M.Phil in Music and Media Technologies at Trinity College Dublin in 2004, where she studied Electroacoustic Composition with Donnacha Dennehy. Libby also studied Soundscape Composition with Barry Truax in the Spring of 2023, completing his online course, “Soundscape Composition As Context-Based Creation," as well as the "Tutorial for the Handbook for Acoustic Ecology" in the summer of 2023.
As a drummer, Libby is a founding member of noise-punk duo, The Paranoid Critical Revolution, in which she played drums from 2005 until 2011. Libby also performed in Glenn Branca's ensembles from 2006-2019. She currently drums with various avant-rock projects in the city.
